Throughout our history, musical arts have been an essential component of worship at Gloria Dei. We have many ways to share our musical gifts and talents in both contemporary and traditional worship.
Traditional Worship Music Ministries
GDLC Chorale
This is a traditional SATB choir who leads in the 8:30am Traditional Service through singing treasured hymns and prepares special anthems for Sundays and seasonal worship services. Throughout the year, the GDLC Chorale also enjoys collaborating with the Clear Lake Symphony annual Christmas "Pops" program, our December Lessons and Carols Worship Concert, and the GDLC Masterworks Concert in May. The Chorale rehearses Sundays from 12:30-2 pm in the Choir Room. If you're interested in joining the choir, email Derrick Bready, Director of Music and Worship.
GDLC Jubellation Bell Choir
This is a 2-octave handbell ensemble who actively prepares special anthems for Sunday worship and seasonal services. Beginners and experienced players work together using a variety of techniques to create beautiful and exciting music to enhance worship. Jubellation has also participated in local festivals through the Greater Houston Handbell Association. The bell choir rehearses Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm in the Chapel. If you're interested in joining Jubellation, email Kathy Skinner, GDLC Music Associate
Contemporary Worship Music Ministry
Music at the contemporary service is led by a band and ranges in style from modern praise and worship songs to contemporary hymn melodies and modern hymn settings. If you play an instrument (keyboard, guitar, bass, drums) or are a gifted singer, email Omar Aguilar, Contemporary Worship Leader and Communications Director.
