Gloria Dei served near and far in response to God's grace and mercy in November and December. One of our mission partners, Lighthouse Christian Ministries (LCM), sent a thank you message for the 20 senior citizens that were blessed with Christmas wishes provided and delivered by Gloria Dei members:
"On behalf of everyone at Lighthouse Christian Ministries and everyone in our senior program, we would like to give thanks to the people of Gloria Dei church for sharing their love with such a generous outpouring to our seniors. Some items were for pleasure or comfort, like games, lotions and treats but other gifts were absolute necessities, like sheets, blankets and pillows or food for their beloved pets. Everyone who gave in these ways, has truly touched someone's life, and made it a little better. These gifts are not just counted as things, but as blessings and love from another human being. These gifts helped our seniors to feel heard, seen and cared for by you and by God, during the loneliest part of the year. They were truly answers to prayers. God bless you all!"
Thank you to all those that blessed LCM's seniors as well as everyone that provided blankets to the homeless, supplied children's books for the February Uganda mission trip, generously fulfilled 84 students' Christmas wants and needs, and served at the Hope Active toy drive by organizing and transporting gifts, helping families pick-up their gifts, wrapping presents and loading cars. As Jesus said in Matthew 5:14, "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden."
