The Gospel of Mark Bible Study
The Gospel of Mark was likely written in Rome during the mid-to-late 50s AD. John Mark, a former missionary companion of Paul and Barnabas, was in the city at that time as a close associate of Peter. He recorded the apostle’s teachings about Jesus. This account was intended primarily for a Gentile audience, introducing them to Jewish customs so they could understand that Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s plan for Israel and all of humanity. Mark’s Gospel is the shortest of the four, offering a straightforward, concise, and fast-paced narrative.
