Altar Guild
This is a behind the scenes ministry that Gloria Dei can’t do without! Join our Altar Guild team, who set up/clean up communion supplies and serve on a 3-month rotation.
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others. 1 Peter 4:10
We are always mindful that we are living in the presence of the risen Christ. This mindfulness prompts us to ask questions. “What is God doing in this situation? How is God directing me? How might I be helpful right now?” There are many serving opportunities at Gloria Dei, and beyond, to fit your giftedness, passion, experiences and availability. You will be blessed as you serve others.
How do I get started?
If you are ready to get started, or if you have questions, please email Pastor Randy. He will help you to identify the best place for you to serve, considering your schedule and availability, your interests and what the current needs are at Gloria Dei.
What if I don't have any special skills?
Most of our volunteer positions don't require special skills, other than a willingness to serve. For those opportunities that require special skills, training is provided.
What if it's not a good fit?
No problem. Just let your ministry leader know, and we can plug you into another area.
Comfort Dog Ministry
The Comfort Dog ministry provides a bridge to open doors for conversations about faith. The GDLC dog, Joy, is the bridge to connect members of Team Joy to people and share the mercy, compassion, presence and proclamation of Jesus Christ.

Communion Assistants
Assist the pastoral team in the distribution of Holy Communion. Serve at your preferred worship service.
Day One Christian Academy
There are many opportunities to volunteer and share your time, talents, knowledge and love of Jesus, directly benefiting the students and faculty at Day One Christian Academy.
Dei Break Cafe
The Dei Break Café brings a little touch of hospitality to Gloria Dei. We welcome everyone with a smile and provide delicious sweets and savory warm breakfast foods at a low cost for all who stop by.
Eucharist Ministers
Eucharist Ministers visit people who are homebound or in assisted living and provide communion and encouragement. Training is provided and a commitment to visit a minimum of once/month to an assigned individual/family.
GriefShare Facilitator
Lead a 13-week class that helps people work through their grief. Sessions are offered twice a year.
Hospital Visitation
A team of volunteers who visit people in the hospital. Training is provided and assignments are made through the Care team leaders.
