First Communion Retreat 2024- Two Day Event

Every year, Gloria Dei offers a First Communion retreat for all 6th graders, and their parents, and for those in 7th and 8th grade who have not yet taken Communion. The First Communion Retreat is a time to introduce the young person to what it means to come to the Lord’s Supper and share in Communion with other members of the body of Christ. It is designed to allow young people to ask questions and for moms and dads and/or significant faith mentors to share their faith.
This year’s First Communion Retreat is Friday, March 1st, 6-9pm and Saturday, March 2nd, 9am -12pm with both Pastor Dan Schepmann and Audrey Duensing-Werner, Director of Family Life, teaching together. Every student will need to attend both days and a parent(s) or a significant faith mentor is required to be present along with the student.
The First Communion class will experience a special reception and then attend the Maundy Thursday worship service on Thursday, March 28, to celebrate their very first communion with their families. See the event and register by February 29 here.
