Care Giver Conference
Saturday, March 03, 2012, 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Location: Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 18220 Upper Bay Road, Houston, TX US 77058
Coordinator: Shirley Arbet ()
Most of us will at one time be a caregiver for someone or be the recipient of another’s care. Caring for a loved one has its challenges, but it can also be a rewarding and blessed experience if you are familiar with the help available in your church and community.
That’s what the Caregiver Conference at Gloria Dei is all about – an opportunity to become familiar with resources in our local area that can assist you in giving care and also to inform you on difficult and sometimes complicated issues unique to caregivers.
The conference is open to anyone caring for a disabled or elderly family member, knows someone who is a caregiver or simply seeks to plan for the future. Various speakers from the community will address topics like Health Care Directive and Powers of Attorney, Understanding Medicaid, Validation and Redirection with Alzheimer’s, Emotional Rollercoaster for Caregivers and much more. Exhibitors will also be available to provide information on care, health, and living options available in the Clear Lake area.
Registration and lunch are free but space is limited. Onsite registration opens at 8:30 AM and the conference begins at 9 AM. The last workshop ends at 2:00 PM.
The conference is presented by Gloria Dei in partnership with Interfaith CarePartners and underwritten by a generous grant from Christus St. John Hospital.
