Location: Neches River Trail, Big Thicket National Preserve, 50 Turtle Creek Road, Silsbee, TX US 77656

Coordinator: Pastor Brian Weaver |

Trail: Neches River Trail, Big Thicket National Preserve

Purpose: A 3 day, 2 night canoe and primitive camping trip to practice the spiritual disciplines of prayer, simplicity and Christian community.

Trip Description: For many guys, it is in the environment of challenging situations, or adventurous opportunities, that they thrive and grow together. In most of our culture, men are faced with any number of challenges from the workplace, in their own home, or even in their own mind. However, most men aren’t taught how to handle these in the love and grace of our Savior Jesus Christ.

This trip would be a 3-day, 2-night trip canoe trip down the Neches River in the Big Thicket National Preserve, East Texas. Each day, throughout the trip, participants will be given 45 minutes to spend time in prayer on provided Scriptural passages or those they would choose on their own. In the mornings and evenings, there will be a time of group devotion and prayer as we start our day in our Savior’s love and grace, and end our day the same.

Throughout the time of canoeing and evening in camp, connection and fellowship will be fostered among the guys through the sharing of stories and experiences, as well as a time of closing prayer every day.

Cost: $65 deposit, estimated $145 total (including deposit)

Group Information: Spots available for 9 guys, ages 18+
