WORSHIP SERVICESDuring worship at Gloria Dei, God comes to us through His Word and Sacraments, and we respond to Him with praise and thanksgiving. We offer 3 different service styles every Sunday. Each service is Christ centered, Bible-based and is relevant and applicable to daily living.
In our liturgical service, we sing hymns, led by organ and cantor, as well as participate in responsive readings, known as the "liturgy." Additional elements of this service include confession and absolution, scripture readings, gospel readings, communion, special music, as well as prayer and the Lord's prayer.
Our traditional service includes hymn singing, led by organ, piano and choir. Throughout the year, we also feature a bell choir, children's choir, youth choir, brass quintet, orchestra and solo instrumentalists. The adult choir offers a special anthem each week. Additional elements of this service include confession and absolution, scripture readings, gospel readings, communion, as well as prayer and the Lord's prayer.
Music at the contemporary service is led by the Gloria Dei Worship Band. They lead the congregation in spirited, uplifting songs, ranging from hymns to contemporary Christian worship choruses. Each week, we hear from God's Word in the message and learn how it pertains to us in our 21st century lives.
Children are always welcome in our worship services, but if you'd like to take advantage of our nursery, KidzLand, it's available during our worship services for newborns through 4 years old. Please arrive a few minutes early to check-in your child and receive a pager. In the event your child needs attention during the service, the nursery staff will page you.
Communion is generally served on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of each month. Communion is also served for special holidays like Easter. Our Statement on Holy Communion
Serving opportunities for worship include: Ushers, Altar Guild, Sanctuary Care and Communion Assistants.
